Yoga

Yoga is a philosophy of life, which can create a vibrantly healthy body, mind and spirit. It is not a religion yet it can brings us a closer connection to our personal spiritual beliefs and experiences. Hatha yoga is a gentle practice with a focus on breathing (pranayama), postures (asana) and deep relaxation leading to meditation.

'To know the true nature of being,

is to become the true nature of being light'

mahalakshmi

When practiced regularly yoga can build strength,  increase flexibility and awareness of the mind body spirit experience (sometimes this experience is refered to by humans as something called life!;0). It can also be used as part of a ‘tool kit’ for relaxation which can help to ease the stresses of everyday life. When practiced regularly with sincere effort it allows us to expand our human potential and expand energy and consciousness. Jane teaches Sivananda Yoga which has come from the teachings of Swami Sivananda Saraswati and his disciple Swami Vishnu Devananda who had a profound influence on bringing the teachings of yoga to the west in the 1960's. It includes the ancient techniques of hatha yoga along with the philosphical approach to the spiritual nature of yogic practice. It places emphasis on the original 12 classical Indian postures (asanas) which all other postures are believed to have stemmed from. Relaxation and breathing also play an important part in moving through the boundaries of stress to return to the true and limitless Self. Jane's aim is to find balance between the disciplines of yogic practices and the experience 'letting go' so that  the ultimate  non-dual reality can be experienced by both student and teacher. Jane also aims to bring a sense of joy, love and light to her lessons and has been known on odd occasion to invoke the odd fit of divine giggles!!

She is now studying under the Himalayan Master Satguru Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath to deepen her practice of Kriya and Surya yoga increase her knowledge of true meditation. SatGurunath is in lineage with the ancient Nath Yogi Tradition, which also included such Himalayan masters as Lahiri Mahasaya, Sri Yukteswar, and Parahansa Yogananda who wrote the classic text 'Autobiography of a Yogi'

 'Time is no-thing...

To sit comfortably within the no-thing

Is to master the hands of time.

If time is what we believe we are short of....

We are simply short of no-thing'
