About Jane

I have been practicing holistic bodywork since 1994. I  love the freedom of body, mind and spirit which it brings on so many levels. I studied Holistic Massage therapy in Liverpool in 1993 and then, with the attitude of 'Have hands will travel!' I took myself off to various locations around the world for a number of years. The work in massage therapy has  ranged from cruise ships, health spas resorts, holistic centres and  chiropractic clinics, not to mention the odd beachside massage hut in Australia and I have even practiced under a tree at a beach in Cyprus for a time also!

Nowadays I work from my therapy room at home in the northwest of England in the 'tropical climes' of Hoylake on the Wirral!  I also teach a kid's and adult yoga locally.

I  believe it's the 'inner meditative dance'  which transforms us through the course of a massage. It can rarely be expressed in  logical terms, yet it is this dance which miraculously rejeuvenates people on so many levels. Just allowing ourselves a little time out and to stop and listen to this is often the key principle of the healing process. It’s so easy to get caught up in the activities of work, home and play, yet to simply allow ourselves to stop and wind down  can often be a daunting task.

In 2002 whilst living in Cyprus my studies lead me into the path of yoga.   I started practicing it until was coming out of my ears ( or was that my legs folding around my ears?) anyway my fascination with eastern philosophies soon got the better of me, and the next thing I was in India chanting ‘Om’ and studying to become a teacher of yoga at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in Kerala, Southern India. It included an intensive daily practice of asanas (yogic postures), pranayama (breathwork) and meditation along with the study of yogic philosophy, and lots more chanting! It was a complete 'third' eye opener which showed me a glimpse of how we can learn to become attuned to the subtle energy systems of the body mind and spirit. I'm still learning and have a keen interest in the spiritual teachings on yoga, meditation and healing, as it all essentially leads us back to our naturally blissful state!

When practiced or received regularly Yoga and massage therapy work synergistically to help us relax, recharge and rejuvenate our energy systems to cope with whatever life presents us with.It allows us to become fully present in each moment and therefore experience this life in it's true fullness.

I believe that we are all 'a work in progress', and only through re-education of body and mind can we learn how to access our true spiritual insight  and using this wisdom we can balance  the internal self with the demands of the external world in which we live.

I am now studying under the Himalayan Master Satguru Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath to deepen my practice and increase my knowledge of Kundalini Kriya Meditation and Pranic Healing with Surya yoga , which I hope to incorporate into my teaching practice as my own practices develop and I become initiated into the teaching of the techniques.

SatGurunath is of the Nath lineage which is the most ancient Yogi Tradition, which has also included such Himalayan masters as Lahiri Mahasaya, Sri Yukteswar, and Parahansa Yogananda who wrote the classic text 'Autobiography of a Yogi' He is an enlightened solar master, and continues to travel the world spreading the message of earth peace through self peace, whilst also providing food and teachings to several villages of children in India.
